According to the Innova database, the number of food products with probiotics launched on the world market in 2008 increased of 60% as compared to 2007. By the end of July 2009, this number already exceeded the total for 2007.

In 2009, dairy products represent 60% of the total launches, as compared to 70% in 2007. These figures demonstrate that probiotics can now be easily added in new food applications (cereals, chocolate, ice cream, drinks...)
